Friendship with Damu (added 27.09.17)

We are delighted to join with St. Andrew's and St. Bride's High School and our partner primary schools in a pledge to support Damu Primary in Malawi. As a Learning Community, we have pledged to raise over £4000 in order to feed every pupil for one year. Please give generously!

Our first fundraising event is on Friday 29th September when we will 'Wear blue for Damu'. Children are asked to donate £1 and come to school dressed in blue or wearing blue accessories.

Curriculum Workshop (added 27.09.17)

All parents are warmly invited to attend a curriculum workshop in school on Thursday 28th September 6:30-7:30pm. During this workshop we will give you an overview of the Scottish Curriculum and how this is delivered in St. Hilary's. Parents will hopefully gain an insight into our approaches to learning and teaching and pick up some helpful hints for supporting learning at home.

Old Toys Needed ( added 27.09.17)

If you are having a clear out, or making room for ( dare we say it) Christmas, then we would really appreciate any donations of good condition toys and games. For our nurture room we are particularly interested in construction materials such as Lego, dressing up costumes, toy cars and Dolls/Action figures.

School Uniform (updated 27.09.17)

Many thanks to all our parents for your wonderful support in turning your children out so beautifully in our school uniform. The pupils are looking very smart. Parents are reminded that indoor shoes are required to  be worn inside the school and we would appreciate your support in providing these.

We are absolutely delighted to have been named as the East Kilbride Summer Reading Challenge winners!!!! Well done to all our fantastic young readers. We were awarded second place in the whole authority; what an achievement.

As a school improvement priority, we are keen to hear your views on ways we can help to develop and support family learning. Please take the time to return the suggestion sheet that was included with the August newsletter.

Volunteers (added 22.08.17)

As always, we rely heavily on parents and family volunteers to support the work of the school. If you are interested in helping out please contact the school office to make your availability known and to arrange for PVG Disclosure checks as required.

S.H.A.P.E.S (updated 27.09.17)

Our next Parent Council Meeting will be held in school on Wednesday 4th October. All parents are welcome to attend.

Parking! (updated 27.09.17)

Please note that due to nursery extended hours our car park is extremely busy at morning drop off and 3pm pick up. Parking spaces are limited and parents are encouraged to 'park and walk'. Everyone is asked to be patient and curtious when parking in the school car park. Please be respectful of disabled parking bays. These should only be used by people who have a valid disabled parking permit displayed. Please note that dropping off bays are for 'dropping off' not parking.

Welcome from the Head Teacher
Welcome from the Head Teacher

A warm welcome to St. Hilary’s Primary School and Nursery Website.

I am privileged to be the Head Teacher of St. Hilary’s Primary School which is a happy, nurturing and engaging learning environment serving the St. Leonards area of East Kilbride.

In St. Hilary’s we are committed in all we do to ensuring that, through working in partnership as a community of faith and learning, every child will realise their full potential. The culture of our school is one which reflects a commitment to children’s rights and positive relationships. Our school is inclusive where all are welcomed and valued. High quality learning and teaching experiences help to ensure our learners are motivated, successful, confident and responsible.

We believe education is a partnership between the school, our children, families and wider community. We hope that our website will further strengthen our partnership working and keep you up to date and well informed of events and everyday learning which happens in our school.

I look forward to working in partnership with you to enable your child to be all they can be.
